‘B’ Naturals

‘It was always our ambition to build a different kind of logistics business, one that is not merely about its bottom line, but a business whose value is measured by its positive impact on others.’
Ben

‘Becoming a B Corp was awesome, but certification is only the beginning; the work continues from here.’
Louise

Being a B Corp

B Corporations are ‘benefit companies’; they are certified as meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

B Corp certification is unique in that it measures a company’s entire social and environmental impact. But beyond that it is a statement of support for a goal of transforming our economy into one that benefits the many rather than the few. By changing the way businesses think, balancing purpose with profit, B Corps believe that a regenerative and long term sustainable economy will result.

For Exim, B Corp Certification is a way of demonstrating our belief in the potential of business to be a force for good in the world. It is also an effective, public framework that provides clarity to all our stakeholders on our performance as a business. Of course it matters to us is that we perform well financially, but that’s a narrow measure of the value of the business. Its true value is in revealed through its social and environmental performance.

Many thousands of companies of all sizes have adopted B Corp certification and not always the ones you would expect.

We have used Exim Solutions for a majority of our UK and international shipments since 2009 and always found them to be a most helpful and conscientious company.
C. Stanley, Operations Manager
We only started exporting after being introduced to Exim Solutions. We had looked into it before but our company is quite young and it seemed like there were a lot of hoops to jump through.
A. Coalfield, Purchasing Department
We use Exim for our shipments globally, including movement of hazardous. They have always been unfazed by things that are out of the ordinary and have also been able to offer me hazardous packing services for my airfreight business.

Our scores—what we measure and why.

B Corp certification measures business performance in five dimensions (governance, workers, community, environment and customers) to generate a total score for the business.

The average business scores 50.9, well short of the 80 needed to meet the minimum B Corp standard.

Our score is currently 94.5. That’s the starting point; the aim is to improve it each year.

Overall B Impact Score

Based on the B Impact assessment, Exim Group earned an overall score of 94.5. The median score for ordinary
businesses who complete the assessment is currently 50.9

Making an impact

Good business makes good sense. Many of the things we are doing in our business are simple common sense, but others require formal policies and decisions, such things become fundamental to the business and how it is run.
